Rudolf May Silvaner is a dry white wine from vineyards with a shell limestone marl soil. Healthy, ripe grapes from predominantly younger vineyards are processed for this organic estate wine. The grapes for this wine contain lots of fruit and fine acids. This Silvaner wine has intense exotic aromas.
Dry Silvaner is the great specialty of the German region Franconia. It is softer and also less aromatic than Riesling, but has its own character with beautiful minerality. At the table it is a real all-rounder.
Wine - Food pairing
Ideal as an aperitif. Also delicious with salads, asparagus and light fish dishes.

Weingut Rudolf May
Weingut Rudolf May is a young company based in the Franken wine town of Retzstadt. In 1999 they built a new winery in the Eberstal, surrounded by vineyards, fruit trees and untouched nature. They currently cultivate 12.8 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards are mainly located in the Retzstadter Langenberg (shell lime soil), but also in Stetten, Retzbach and Thüngersheim. The main grape variety is the Franken classic Silvaner, followed by Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Müller-Thurgau and Riesling.
The aim of their work is to produce traditional Franken wines with a touch of youthful dynamism and in harmony with nature. Here they combine the experience of many generations of a winemaker's family with the latest knowledge of contemporary viticulture. The terroir of the shell limestone, the type of vintage and the differences in character of the locations must be clearly recognizable and preserved to the bottle.
